Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients to determine their physical therapy needs, establishing treatment goals based on physician orders.
• Develop and implement customized treatment programs, utilizing a variety of therapeutic techniques and modalities to enhance recovery.
• Maintain accurate patient records, documenting evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in a timely and professional manner.
• Supervise and provide mentorship to Physical Therapist Assistants and support personnel, ensuring optimal patient care delivery.
• Engage in interdisciplinary communication with healthcare providers to coordinate care and monitor patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
• Evaluate and recommend the use of assistive devices, therapeutic exercises, and home programs to promote functional independence.
• Actively participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to improve patient outcomes and service quality within the facility.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will provide care to a diverse range of patients, including those recovering from orthopedic injuries, neurological disorders, and post-operative rehabilitation, as well as individuals managing chronic conditions such as arthritis and stroke recovery. Your role will be pivotal in helping patients regain mobility, strength, and confidence as they strive to improve their functional abilities.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Current physical therapy license in the State of Virginia.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
• Proficient computer skills, including fluency in electronic health record systems.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of experience in a clinical physical therapy setting is required, providing direct patient care.
• Experience in outpatient rehabilitation and familiarity with evidence-based practices in physical therapy.

Compensation and Benefits
