Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct initial patient evaluations to assess mental health needs and collaborate with clients to establish effective treatment plans.

• Engage with trauma injury patients on a regular basis, actively listening to their concerns and tailoring therapeutic interventions to foster emotional healing and resilience.

• Monitor client progress closely, modifying treatment strategies as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.

• Educate clients on coping mechanisms relating to stress and trauma, enabling them to manage symptoms effectively.

• Coordinate with external providers, including medical agencies and community organizations, to ensure that clients have access to comprehensive care and resources.

• Participate in ongoing training and continuing education to maintain licensure and enhance therapeutic skills, adhering to best practices in mental health counseling.

• Document all treatment sessions and assessments thoroughly in our electronic medical record (EMR) systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on trauma injury patients, many of whom may be dealing with complex emotional and psychological challenges stemming from their experiences. This role requires a deep understanding of trauma-informed care practices, allowing you to support individuals on their journeys to recovery while addressing unique client needs with sensitivity and empathy.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling or a related field.

• A valid and active Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) designation in the state of New York.

• A minimum of three years of hands-on experience working with trauma patients or in similar settings.

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, with excellent capabilities in documentation and reporting.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to foster therapeutic relationships and support client engagement.

Preferred Experience\n

Compensation and Benefits\n
