This full-time role allows you to provide quality mental health care through a telehealth platform from the comfort of your remote setting. With a competitive salary range of USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually and a sign-on bonus, you will play a crucial role in improving the well-being of our diverse clientele.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations and document assessments from the initial consultation through to the conclusion of treatment.
• Develop individualized intervention and recovery plans for a diverse spectrum of clients, addressing specific needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups.
• Facilitate engaging individual therapy sessions and dynamic group therapy discussions, utilizing evidence-based practices to promote healing and growth.
• Monitor and assess client progress regularly to adjust treatment plans as needed, ensuring the highest level of care is maintained.
• Collaborate closely with other health care professionals, such as psychiatrists, physicians, nurses, and social workers, to create well-rounded intervention strategies.
• Follow up with client care teams for hospital-admitted clients to ensure continuity of care.
• Identify behavioral barriers to recovery and develop strategies to mitigate these challenges effectively.
• Provide support and guidance to family members and primary caregivers dealing with mental and behavioral challenges in clients.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Mental Harbor, you will work with a diverse and multifaceted patient population, which may include individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, relationship difficulties, and other mental health disorders. Your role will emphasize the importance of cultural sensitivity and adaptability, ensuring that varying backgrounds and needs are respected and addressed in treatment.

Qualifications

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as a LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in California.
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective interactions with clients and other healthcare professionals.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated compassionate nature towards clients.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in a mental health counseling role, demonstrating proficiency in conducting assessments and developing therapeutic interventions.
• Familiarity with electronic health records, particularly using systems such as AVATAR.
• Experience dealing with a variety of physical and emotional health conditions, including addiction disorders.
• A deep understanding of the effects of medications prescribed by medical specialists.
• Knowledge and adherence to the best practices established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
