Work Environment

This position is fully remote, providing flexibility and convenience for both our counselors and clients. Utilizing a user-friendly telehealth platform, counselors will conduct sessions through video conferencing, ensuring that clients receive uninterrupted support. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough preliminary assessments and document a client’s journey from initial consultation through treatment follow-up.
• Evaluate clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health using evidence-based techniques and diagnostic tools.
• Create personalized intervention and recovery plans catering to individuals, couples, families, and groups, ensuring every plan aligns with the latest therapeutic methodologies.
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, employing techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing.
• Regularly monitor clients' progress and adapt treatment plans as necessary to enhance therapeutic outcomes.
• Work closely with an interdisciplinary team of mental health professionals, including psychiatrists and social workers, to collaboratively design and implement effective intervention strategies.
• Provide critical follow-up with hospitalized clients, coordinating care with nurses and attending physicians.
• Proactively identify obstacles to recovery, helping clients and their families navigate these challenges through effective coping strategies and support.

The clients of Center Stone Counseling Services come from diverse backgrounds and experiences. Our patient population includes children, adolescents, adults, and families dealing with various mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, addiction, and relationship conflicts. We emphasize cultural competence and inclusivity to ensure that all clients feel understood and respected throughout their therapeutic journey.

Qualifications

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited university.
• Current licensure as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in California, demonstrating your qualifications and commitment to the field.
• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Strong foundation of previous experience working as a mental health counselor, with particular emphasis on therapeutic practices and client-centered care.

Preferred Experience

• Proficient use of electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, to streamline client documentation and care management.
• Experience working with clients facing physical and emotional health issues alongside addiction disorders.
• Familiarity with the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of care.
• Comprehensive understanding of the psychopharmacological treatments prescribed by medical professionals, enhancing interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating effective therapy sessions and collaboration with clients and healthcare colleagues.
