Key Responsibilities\n

The Mental Health Counselor will be responsible for a variety of key tasks, including:

• Conducting thorough trauma-informed assessments to evaluate clients' histories and identify tailored treatment approaches.

• Developing and implementing personalized treatment plans designed to support trauma recovery and foster resilience.
\n
• Providing evidence-based therapies, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), specifically designed to aid in trauma processing.

• Facilitating both individual and group therapy sessions aimed at helping clients articulate and manage their trauma experiences.
\n
• Collaborating with psychiatrists and interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive care for clients, including medication management and psychoeducation.

• Offering crisis intervention services for clients in distress during trauma-related emergencies or acute situations.
\n
• Educating clients and their families on trauma responses, coping strategies, and available community resources for additional support.
\n
• Maintaining accurate and confidential clinical documentation in line with ethical and legal standards.

• Engaging in ongoing professional development, including participation in case consultations and attending seminars or workshops on trauma-informed care.

• Staying informed about the latest research and methodologies in trauma therapy to enhance therapeutic interventions.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role primarily focuses on working with individuals who have experienced trauma, including but not limited to survivors of abuse, natural disasters, and significant life stressors. Counselors should adopt a client-centered approach, utilizing empathy and understanding to support each person's unique recovery journey.

Qualifications\n

The following qualifications are required for this position:

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT in the state of Nevada.
\n
• Strong knowledge base in trauma-related disorders accompanied by a commitment to trauma-informed treatment modalities.

• Proficient use of electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring efficient management of client documentation.
\n
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating compassion, empathy, and a non-judgmental attitude.

Preferred Experience\n

While a minimum of two years of post-licensure experience is preferred, we value candidates who are eager and passionate about trauma therapy, regardless of experience level. Familiarity with trauma-focused therapeutic interventions and techniques will be advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits\n
