Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to develop individualized therapy plans tailored to each client’s unique needs.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy, to foster positive behavioral changes.
• Deliver group, family, and individual therapy sessions, ensuring a therapeutic space that promotes open communication and healing.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals and participate in regular team meetings to ensure cohesive care and optimal treatment outcomes for clients.
• Engage in ongoing professional development activities, such as workshops and training sessions, to stay current in mental health practices and enhance your clinical skills.

Patient Population / Client Focus

At Great Lakes Healthcare Center, our client population includes individuals and families who often lack adequate access to mental health care. Many of our clients deal with a wide range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance misuse. Your role as an LPC is crucial in providing support and guidance to these individuals, helping them navigate their challenges and fostering resilience.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a closely related field is required.
• Active and unrestricted licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas.
• At least two years of counseling experience, preferably in a clinical setting.
• Strong understanding of legal and ethical standards related to mental health practices.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, able to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Experience

• Specialization or additional training in family therapy, couples therapy, trauma-informed care, or substance use counseling is highly preferred.
• Proficient in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and telehealth technologies to enhance client care.
• Experience working with diverse populations, understanding cultural sensitivities, and adapting approaches accordingly.
