Key Responsibilities

As a Pediatric Physical Therapist at Little Hands, you will engage in various activities designed to support the development and rehabilitation of children, including:

• Assessing each child's physical abilities through comprehensive evaluations and assessments to create individualized treatment plans.
• Implementing therapeutic exercises and interventions tailored to each child's unique needs, while also instructing and guiding parents through the therapy process.
• Administering modalities such as manual therapy, traction, and therapeutic exercises to improve muscle strength, coordination, flexibility, and functional independence.
• Conducting home safety assessments and providing recommendations to enhance the child's living environment, promoting rehabilitation after discharge.
• Collaborating with physical therapy assistants to ensure compliance with the treatment plan and providing mentorship as needed.
• Maintaining accurate clinical documentation that includes evaluations, treatment progress notes, and discharge summaries, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Participating in interdisciplinary team meetings and case conferences to discuss treatment options, progress, and any necessary modifications to the care plan.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be working with pediatric clients, ranging from infants to teenagers, who have diverse physical challenges. These may include developmental delays, neuromuscular disorders, orthopedic issues, or recovery from surgery. You will empower families by equipping them with strategies and resources to support their child's rehabilitation journey, thereby promoting a holistic approach to pediatric care.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in Virginia, with licenses in good standing.
• CPR certification and a valid driver's license with automobile insurance.
• Strong ethical commitment to patient-centered care and a passion for pediatric rehabilitation.
• Exceptional communication skills to effectively engage with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, the following experiences are valued:

• A minimum of one year working in pediatric physical therapy or a related acute care/home care setting.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this position ranges from USD 100,000 to USD 120,000 annually, supplemented with a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
