Orthopedic Physical Health Therapist - Full-Time Role

Position Overview

Lakeportside Mind Rehab & Wellness Center is actively seeking a dedicated and licensed Physical Health Therapist to join our team in Morristown, New Jersey. This full-time position involves working directly with patients to assist them in regaining their mobility and enhancing their overall functional capabilities. As an integral member of our rehabilitation team, you will employ a range of therapeutic techniques aimed at optimizing the quality of life for individuals recovering from orthopedic conditions.

Our center spans over 5,000 square feet and is equipped with advanced sports medicine technology and equipment. Our team consists of skilled professionals including physical therapists and physical therapy assistants, all working towards a common goal of patient recovery and wellness.

Work Environment

This role is set on-site at our rehabilitation center, fostering a collaborative environment where physical therapists can share knowledge, techniques, and support each other in providing the best possible care. Your typical work hours will be Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life schedule. In this engaging atmosphere, you will be utilized as part of a small, focused team ensuring personalized patient experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify and address patients' needs and goals in their rehabilitation journey.
• Efficiently manage a treatment schedule accommodating one patient per hour, ensuring quality attention to each individual's care plan.
• Formulate and implement personalized care plans using evidence-based techniques, including manual therapy and exercise regimens.
• Provide cost-effective and alternative therapeutic solutions to medications and surgical options to enhance patient mobility.
• Encourage and motivate patients throughout their treatment to help them regain functional abilities, focusing on their progress and outcomes.
• Document all treatments and outcomes meticulously for review and compliance, utilizing EMR software platforms such as WebPT.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including other healthcare professionals, to optimize patient care and recovery processes.
• Monitor and evaluate treatment effectiveness continuously, adjusting care plans based on patient progress.
• Advocate for healthy lifestyle modifications, promoting strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination in line with patient goals.
• Engage with patients and families to provide guidance, education, and support throughout the rehabilitation process.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on patients dealing with orthopedic conditions, primarily those referred by private medical practitioners. Our diverse patient population seeks rehabilitation for a range of issues, including post-surgical recovery, sports-related injuries, and chronic pain management. By addressing their unique needs, you will help patients restore their mobility and improve their daily functional abilities.

Qualifications

• Possession of a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) degree is required.
• Current and valid certification as a licensed Physical Therapist in the state of New Jersey.
• Maintaining a clean professional record with no board actions or disciplinary measures on your license.
• Proficiency in demonstrating effective manual therapy techniques and knowledge in exercise physiology.
• Experience in utilizing electronic medical records (EMR) systems, particularly WebPT, for documentation and patient tracking.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience working in an orthopedic outpatient rehabilitation environment is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to create and manage personalized fitness programs tailored to individual patient needs.
• A background in conducting wellness screenings and motivational interviewing techniques is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 100,000 to 120,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
