Our organization operates predominantly as a community health clinic, and you will be part of a collaborative, remote team of health professionals. Although you will work from home, you will remain connected to fellow team members and other health professionals through regular virtual meetings, supervision sessions, and team-building activities. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough initial evaluations by performing preliminary interviews to gather comprehensive client history and document all aspects of care from the initial consultation to discharge.

• Diagnose and assess clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health, utilizing evidence-based assessment tools to develop individualized treatment plans.
\n
• Design and implement targeted intervention and recovery strategies for clients in various formats, including individual, couple, family, and group therapy sessions, utilizing best practices from the American Mental Health Counselors Association.
\n
• Monitor client progress diligently throughout the treatment plan, adjusting strategies as necessary to ensure the achievement of clinical goals.
\n
• Collaborate with other mental health professionals, including psychiatrists and social workers, to create holistic intervention plans that support overall client health and wellness.
\n
• Provide follow-up care for clients recently discharged from inpatient settings to ensure continuity of care and to facilitate any needed adjustments in their treatment.
\n
• Educate clients and their families about mental health issues, care protocols, and strategies to mitigate behaviors that may hinder recovery.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our counseling center serves a varied client population, including individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, and relationship issues. You will work with clients from diverse backgrounds, adapting your approach to meet different cultural needs and ensuring that every client feels heard, respected, and supported.

Qualifications\n

• A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of California.
\n
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE) is necessary.
\n
• Proficient use of electronic health record systems, such as AVATAR, to manage client information efficiently.
\n
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, crucial for documenting client interactions and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience as a mental health counselor or therapist, preferably in a clinical setting.

• Familiarity with physical health conditions, emotional health challenges, and engagement in treating substance use disorders.

• A strong understanding of the effects of psychotropic medications prescribed by medical professionals.

• Demonstrated capacity to handle crisis situations effectively and compassionately.
