Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health.

• Document each client’s progress meticulously, from the first consultation through to treatment completion.
\n
• Develop tailored treatment plans and intervention strategies for diverse populations, including individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Facilitate engaging and effective individual and group therapy sessions, employing various therapeutic modalities.
\n
• Monitor and assess clients' progress throughout the therapy process, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
\n
• Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, primary care physicians, and social workers, to ensure integrated care.
\n
• Provide follow-up support for clients transitioning from hospital care, ensuring continuity in their treatment plan.
\n
• Educate and assist family members in understanding and managing their loved one's mental health challenges.
\n
• Identify behavioral patterns that may hinder recovery and proactively address these issues with clients.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our client base includes a wide range of individuals facing various mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral disorders. As a counselor with Mental Harbor, you will work with diverse populations, tailoring your therapeutic techniques to meet the individual needs of adolescents, adults, and families. This role is critical in providing meaningful support and therapeutic interventions that can lead to long-lasting improvements in our clients' lives.

Qualifications\n

• Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
\n
• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of California.

• Successful completion and passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Strong foundational knowledge in psychotherapy practices, coupled with excellent clinical insight and judgment.
\n
• Ability to effectively utilize electronic health record systems, preferably AVATAR or similar platforms.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience working as a mental health counselor in a clinical setting, particularly in telehealth environments.

• Understanding of co-occurring physical and emotional health conditions, along with experience working with clients dealing with addiction disorders.

• Familiarity with best practices from the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• In-depth knowledge of psychopharmacology and the implications of medications prescribed by healthcare professionals.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, alongside a natural ability to establish rapport with clients.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills characterized by empathy and understanding.

Compensation and Benefits\n
