Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed assessments to capture patients' trauma histories and current status, facilitating the development of tailored treatment plans.

• Design and implement individualized treatment strategies aimed at fostering recovery and enhancing resilience, making use of evidence-based methodologies such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions to assist clients in processing traumatic experiences while developing effective coping mechanisms.

• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care, ensuring that all aspects of a patient's mental and physical health are addressed.

• Offer immediate crisis intervention support during trauma-related emergencies, employing a calm and measured approach tailored to the patient's needs.
\n
• Educate patients and their families about the dynamics of trauma, effective coping strategies, and available resources, enhancing their capacity for self-care.

• Maintain organized and confidential records in compliance with applicable laws and ethical standards to ensure the integrity of client care.

• Engage in regular case consultations, team meetings, and continuous professional development to remain current with best practices in trauma-informed therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Therapist at Maricopa Counseling, you will work primarily with individuals grappling with complex trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and dissociative disorders. Our focus is on trauma survivors who benefit from evidence-based interventions in a safe and open environment.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT in the state of Maryland, ensuring compliance with state regulations.

• A strong foundational understanding of trauma-related disorders and effective trauma-informed treatment modalities is essential.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with a compassionate and non-judgmental approach, are imperative for building rapport with clients.

• The ability to handle high-stress situations with professionalism and composure is critical.

• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and various digital platforms needed for telehealth practice.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience is preferred, demonstrating your capacity to perform effectively in a mental health counseling role.
