Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews with clients to assess their mental, emotional, and behavioral health status, ensuring accurate documentation of cases from initial consultation to follow-up assessments.

• Evaluate clients' mental health through standardized assessment tools and intake forms, facilitating the development of tailored recovery plans for diverse populations including individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based practices and innovative therapeutic techniques to foster healing and personal growth.
\n
• Regularly monitor and document client progress throughout their treatment plans, making necessary adjustments based on therapeutic assessments and feedback.
\n
• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and nurses, to ensure comprehensive client care and coordinated intervention strategies.
\n
• Identify and proactively address behavioral patterns that may hinder progress, providing clients and their families with coping strategies and psychoeducation on mental health challenges.
\n
• Maintain ongoing communication with healthcare providers for clients admitted to inpatient care, when necessary, for seamless continuity of care.

• Assist family members and primary caregivers in developing skills to manage and support their loved ones effectively through challenges related to mental health.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In your role as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will work with an array of clients facing various mental health issues, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship difficulties. You will also engage primarily with individuals who have unique needs, including diverse cultural backgrounds and multifaceted personal histories. Your expertise will play a critical role in their healing journey.

Qualifications\n

• A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New Jersey.

• Proof of passing scores on national examinations like the NCE or NCMHCE, demonstrating your competence in the field.

• A strong foundation in counseling theory and practice, alongside familiarity with the nuances of mental health law and ethics.

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior professional experience as a mental health counselor in a clinical setting, preferably in community health or outpatient environments.

• Proficiency with electronic health record systems, with a preference for familiarity with AVATAR or similar platforms.

• Experience addressing co-occurring physical and emotional health conditions, including addiction disorders.

• Knowledge of the best practices as established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA), incorporating the latest advancements in therapeutic techniques.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills, alongside a natural empathetic approach to client interactions and support.

Compensation and Benefits\n
