Senior Physical Therapist - Full-Time Position in Rehabilitation Facility

North West Physiotherapy is seeking a dedicated and innovative Senior Physical Therapist for our rehabilitation facility located in Cypress, Florida. In this full-time position, you will play a vital role in the evaluation and treatment of patients with various physical rehabilitation needs. Key Responsibilities

• Perform initial evaluations of patients within 24 hours of physician referral, adhering to strict documentation protocols for any delays.
• Design individualized treatment plans approved by referring physicians, focusing on evidence-based practices and tailored interventions.
• Provide therapy as per the approved treatment plan, ensuring effective and appropriate interventions are delivered to each patient.
• Supervise and mentor Physical Therapy Assistants, ensuring that they provide quality care and adhere to state regulations.
• Maintain open communication with the healthcare team about patient progress, challenges, and future treatment plans through regular updates.
• Actively participate in Patient Care Conferences, Rehabilitation Conferences, and Utilization Review meetings to optimize patient outcomes.
• Conduct in-service training for facility staff to enhance their understanding of physical therapy techniques and patient care improvements.
• Document evaluations, treatment progress, and recertification records in compliance with state practice acts and payer requirements.
• Engage in discharge planning, including instructing family members or nursing staff on patient care and maintenance programs post-therapy.
• Facilitate the ordering of necessary durable medical equipment to assist patients in achieving independence, including items such as braces, walkers, and canes.
• Ensure all therapy and treatment equipment is maintained in excellent working condition by reporting any problems promptly.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily work with an adult patient population recovering from a variety of conditions including orthopedic surgeries, neurological disorders, and sports-related injuries. Your work will focus on enhancing the functional abilities, mobility, and overall quality of life for these patients. You will engage with each patient empathetically, tailoring your approach to meet their unique therapeutic needs.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution is required.
• Current Florida State Licensure as a Physical Therapist is mandatory.
• At least two years of experience in a clinical setting, particularly within a rehabilitation or outpatient environment.
• Exceptional communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking capabilities to efficiently manage patient load and administrative tasks.
• Self-motivated with a passion for delivering high-quality patient care and fostering patient independence.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in outpatient orthopedic treatments and techniques, including exercise therapy, manual therapy, and sports rehabilitation.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems and clinical documentation processes.
• A history of conducting staff in-service training or professional development workshops.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this position is competitive, with a salary range of $90,000 to $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
