Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed assessments to evaluate the psychological and emotional needs of each patient, ensuring that treatment plans are tailored to their individual histories.

• Develop, implement, and regularly review individualized treatment plans, focusing on resilience-building techniques and strategies to promote trauma recovery.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to facilitate effective healing processes.

• Provide individual therapy sessions and facilitate group therapy meetings aimed at helping patients process traumatic experiences and cultivate effective coping strategies.

• Collaborate with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to coordinate integrated care that meets the diverse needs of our patients.

• Respond to trauma-related crises with appropriate interventions, ensuring the immediate safety and support of individuals in distress.

• Educate patients and their families on trauma responses, providing information on various coping mechanisms and resources available for additional support.

• Maintain accurate, confidential, and compliant documentation in accordance with legal and ethical standards to track patient progress effectively.

• Participate proactively in case consultations, team meetings, and professional development workshops centered on trauma-informed care and best practices.

• Stay abreast of current research and advancements in trauma therapy to enhance your skills and treatment methodologies.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary focus of this role is on supporting individuals who have been affected by trauma in various forms, including survivors of abuse, neglect, and adverse childhood experiences. By employing trauma-informed practices, you will help patients navigate their recovery journeys, addressing both the psychological impacts and the resilience-building necessary for lasting healing.

Qualifications\n

• Education: A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Licensure: Must hold a current and valid LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R license in the state of New York.

• Experience: A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience in mental health counseling.
\n
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of trauma-related disorders, treatment modalities, and resilience strategies.

• Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with a compassionate, culturally sensitive, and non-judgmental approach toward patients.

• Technical Skills: Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and familiar with Microsoft Office applications.
