Work Environment

This position is primarily based onsite at our state-of-the-art rehabilitation facility located in Carteret, New Jersey. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address the specific orthopedic needs of each patient, ensuring evidence-based practices are utilized.
• Cary out physical assessments to evaluate strength, mobility, and functional ability, using advanced diagnostic tests and tools.
• Oversee the activities of Physical Therapy Assistants, ensuring the effective delivery of care in alignment with the established plan.
• Provide hands-on therapeutic interventions, including manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercises, and modalities to promote healing and rehabilitation.
• Monitor and document patients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to reflect their evolving needs and response to therapy.
• Educate patients and their families on exercises, use of assistive devices, and strategies to facilitate recovery and prevent reinjury.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team in case conferences, contributing insights for comprehensive treatment planning.
• Participate in the development and revision of care plans to ensure that patient-centered goals are met effectively.
• Maintain accurate clinical records, including evaluations, treatment notes, and discharge summaries, in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Stay current with best practices in orthopedic physical therapy and participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, you will work with a diverse patient population, including individuals recovering from joint surgeries, fractures, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions. Your role will involve designing treatment modalities that empower patients to regain their independence and improve their functional capabilities. You will engage actively with patients, fostering a therapeutic relationship that encourages their involvement in the rehabilitation process.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current state licensure for physical therapy, maintaining good standing in New Jersey.
• A minimum of one year of experience in an orthopedic or rehabilitation setting is preferred.
• Current CPR certification to ensure patient safety during therapy sessions.
• A valid driver's license and reliable transportation for occasional community mobility assessments and home visits.
• Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for improving patient outcomes.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems for clinical documentation.
• Specialized training in specific therapeutic techniques or modalities related to orthopedic rehabilitation.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is USD 100,000 – 120,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
