Work Environment

This position is designated as an onsite role primarily located in patients' homes across the surrounding areas. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct in-home evaluations for patients recovering from illnesses, surgeries, or injuries to develop effective treatment plans.
• Implement various therapeutic techniques, including exercises, stretches, and hands-on therapy to alleviate pain and improve mobility.
• Regularly track and document patients' treatments, progress, and responses to therapy using electronic health records.
• Reassess and adjust patient treatment goals and strategies as necessary based on their recovery journey.
• Advise and fit patients with assistive devices to enhance their ability to conduct daily activities efficiently and safely.
• Educate patients, caregivers, and families about therapy procedures and the proper use of assistive tools, ensuring understanding and compliance.
• Stay current with industry best practices by attending workshops, engaging with professional networks, and participating in continuing education opportunities.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physical Therapist will work with a wide range of patients, including adults undergoing postoperative recovery, children with developmental delays, and individuals requiring rehabilitation for chronic conditions or sports injuries. The ability to adapt treatment plans to suit each patient's unique circumstances and home environment is crucial for achieving optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution is required.
• A valid Physical Therapy license in the state of Virginia.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Proficiency in utilizing electronic health records for documentation and tracking patient progress.
• A flexible and agile approach to manage the demands of home healthcare settings.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Physical Therapist is preferred, but we are open to recent graduates who demonstrate strong clinical skills and a commitment to learning.
