Key Responsibilities

• Design and direct individualized physical therapy treatment programs aimed at alleviating pain, restoring function, and enhancing mobility for patients dealing with orthopedic issues, all in accordance with established plans of care.
• Oversee the work of Physical Therapy Assistants, ensuring that treatments are effectively implemented and purposefully adjusted based on observed patient progress.
• Conduct thorough evaluations of clients' physical capabilities through diagnostic and prognostic tests, ensuring treatments address specific deficits and maximize recovery potential.
• Assess patients' home environments and provide strategic recommendations to optimize their rehabilitation and support their independence.
• Administer a variety of therapeutic interventions including manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercises, and the application of physical agents such as traction and massage.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop, review, and modify comprehensive care plans, actively participating in interdisciplinary case conferences to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate clinical records including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, strictly adhering to facility documentation protocols.
• Provide education and training to patients and their families regarding their therapy regimes, including the use and maintenance of any assistive devices.
• Regularly observe and document any changes in the patient's condition, communicating these findings to physicians and case managers to ensure timely adjustments to care plans.
• Uphold high standards of clinical excellence while contributing to community outreach initiatives that seek to educate the public about orthopedic rehabilitation and injury prevention.

Qualifications

Compensation and Benefits
