Better Living Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our team. In this full-time position, you will play a crucial role in providing specialized mental health care to individuals impacted by trauma, helping them navigate their recovery journey.

Work Environment\n

This position is primarily remote, enabling you to work from the comfort of your home while occasionally engaging with clients through virtual sessions or office visits when necessary. Our outpatient setting is designed to provide flexible support to our clients, enhancing accessibility while maintaining the personal touch of in-person interactions when needed.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough, trauma-informed assessments to evaluate each patient's trauma history, enabling the identification of appropriate therapeutic approaches.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans centered on trauma recovery and resilience-building, ensuring each plan is tailored to specific patient goals.

• Utilize evidence-based interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to facilitate effective trauma processing.

• Lead both individual and group therapy sessions aimed at helping patients process traumatic events, develop coping mechanisms, and promote emotional healing.

• Collaborate with psychiatrists and other mental health professionals to ensure a holistic and integrated approach to client care.
\n
• Provide crisis intervention and timely support during trauma-related emergencies, equipped to manage challenging situations calmly and effectively.

• Educate patients and their families about trauma responses and coping strategies, empowering them with the knowledge to aid recovery.

• Maintain accurate and confidential patient documentation in adherence to legal and ethical standards, supporting quality care and compliance.

• Engage in case consultations and team meetings, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

• Stay informed on the latest research and methodologies in trauma therapy, ensuring the best practices are utilized in treatment.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will primarily work with individuals who have experienced various forms of trauma, including survivors of abuse, neglect, and traumatic events. Your compassionate approach and specialized knowledge will be key in guiding them through their healing processes, fostering resilience, and helping them reclaim their lives.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Texas.

• A strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment modalities, demonstrating expertise in resilience-building techniques.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, approaching therapy with empathy and a non-judgmental perspective.

• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and general computer applications, essential for documentation and administrative tasks.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience is preferred, particularly in settings focused on trauma recovery.

• Demonstrated experience in delivering trauma-focused therapies and interventions to diverse populations.

Compensation and Benefits\n
