Key Responsibilities\n

As a Mental Health Therapist at Highland Rivers, you will:

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients’ trauma history and tailor appropriate treatment approaches.

• Design, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans that focus on trauma recovery, resilience-building, and overall mental wellness.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) during individual and group therapy sessions.
\n
• Facilitate group therapy sessions that empower patients to process their trauma in a supportive setting, while also providing individual therapy that addresses their unique healing journey.

• Engage in ongoing collaboration with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive, integrated care for each patient.
\n
• Provide immediate crisis intervention and emotional support during trauma-related emergencies, offering a stabilizing presence for clients in distress.
\n
• Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, coping strategies, and support resources, fostering a greater understanding of their mental health.
\n
• Maintain detailed and confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring all patient records are accurate and up-to-date.

• Participate in case consultations and team meetings to share insights and enhance treatment approaches within our trauma-informed framework.

• Continuously stay updated with the latest research and advancements in trauma therapy to ensure the highest quality of care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your work will primarily focus on individuals affected by trauma, including those diagnosed with PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. You will be tasked with approaching each patient with sensitivity and respect for their unique experiences, tailoring your therapeutic approach to meet their specific needs and circumstances.

Qualifications\n

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Texas.
\n
• A strong knowledge base regarding trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment methodologies.
\n
• Excellent communication skills, evidencing a compassionate, non-judgmental approach to therapy.
\n
• The ability to remain calm and composed in emotionally charged situations, and to foster a positive therapeutic environment.

• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and the use of standard computer applications.
\n
• A collaborative mindset, eager to work as part of a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes.

Preferred Experience\n

While two years of post-licensure experience is preferred, candidates with less experience who demonstrate strong motivation and a genuine commitment to trauma therapy will also be considered. Familiarity with trauma-focused therapeutic techniques and a background in treating trauma-related issues will be advantageous.
