Trauma-Focused Mental Health Counselor - Full-Time Remote Opportunity

Position Overview

Allure Counseling Center is actively seeking a dedicated and empathetic Mental Health Counselor to join our team. This full-time position offers the flexibility of remote work, allowing you to make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals on their journey to healing from trauma. You will be instrumental in providing specialized mental health care targeted at those affected by various types of trauma, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders.

Work Environment

This role operates within a predominantly remote setting, allowing for a supportive work-life balance while engaging with patients in various outpatient contexts. While most work is conducted remotely, occasional team meetings and case consultations may be held at our Anaheim office to foster collaboration and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive, trauma-informed mental health assessments to thoroughly evaluate each patient’s trauma history and treatment needs.
• Design and implement individualized treatment plans that focus on trauma recovery, aiming to enhance patient resilience and coping mechanisms.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to facilitate healing.
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions structured to help patients process their trauma, develop effective coping strategies, and foster personal growth.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated and holistic care for all patients, sharing insights and treatment plans regularly.
• Provide immediate crisis intervention when necessary, offering support during trauma-related emergencies.
• Educate patients and their families on trauma responses, effective coping strategies, and available community resources to enhance their understanding.
• Maintain accurate and confidential clinical documentation, adhering to legal and ethical standards, ensuring all patient interactions are recorded thoroughly.
• Engage actively in case consultations, team meetings, and professional development activities geared towards improving trauma-informed care practices.
• Stay current with ongoing research and best practices in trauma therapy to enhance your clinical skills and treatment effectiveness.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary client focus includes adults and adolescents experiencing a range of trauma-related issues. Our patients often come to us seeking support for challenges related to PTSD, complex trauma histories, and dissociative disorders. You will play a pivotal role in creating a safe space for clients to explore their experiences and work towards recovery, with an emphasis on individualized care plans that acknowledge their unique circumstances.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is mandatory.
• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Psychologist, or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of California.
• Two years of post-licensure clinical experience is preferred, with a focus on trauma-informed environments.

Preferred Experience

• Proven expertise in trauma-related disorders and a solid understanding of trauma-informed treatment modalities are essential.
• Experience in delivering trauma-focused therapeutic interventions, particularly EMDR and TF-CBT, will be highly regarded.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate, non-judgmental approach to client interactions.
• Ability to remain composed in high-stress situations while managing multiple patient needs.
• Proficiency in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and general computer software is necessary for maintaining patient documentation.
• A collaborative spirit to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to patient-centered care.

Compensation and Benefits
