Work Environment

This full-time position is based onsite at our spacious rehabilitation facility in Bergenfield, NJ, which is tailored for patient-centric treatment. Our clinic is well-equipped with modern therapeutic tools and resources, fostering an atmosphere conducive to healing and professional growth. The work schedule is typically Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing you to maintain a healthy work-life balance while providing essential care to your patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of patients presenting with a variety of musculoskeletal conditions, sports injuries, postoperative rehabilitation, and chronic pain syndromes.
• Develop and implement evidence-based, individualized therapy programs utilizing advanced manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercises, and neuromuscular re-education strategies tailored to each patient's condition.
• Meticulously track patient progress, document treatment outcomes, and adjust therapeutic approaches based on ongoing evaluation to optimize recovery.
• Educate and empower patients with knowledge regarding injury prevention, home exercise regimens, and strategies for long-lasting wellness outside the clinical environment.
• Collaborate closely with physical therapy assistants, physicians, and other healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
• Regularly monitor ongoing patient progress and communicate any necessary changes in treatment plans or patient condition to both the physician and the patient's family.
• Provide educational resources and training to residents, families, and facility staff on various exercises and wellness strategies to enhance community health.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will work with a diverse patient population, including athletes recovering from sports injuries, individuals undergoing postoperative rehabilitation, and patients managing chronic pain. Your expertise will allow you to tailor treatment plans that address the unique needs of each patient, fostering not only physical recovery but also emotional and psychological well-being.

Qualifications

• An active Physical Therapist license in the state of New Jersey is required.
• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy is mandatory, while a Doctorate (DPT) or Master's Degree in Physical Therapy is preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in outpatient orthopedics is required, although highly competent new graduates with relevant clinical experience are encouraged to apply.
• Strong clinical acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt treatment strategies to a diverse patient base are essential.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred; additional certifications in geriatrics or neurological rehabilitation are advantageous.
• A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are essential for patient visits, if necessary.

Preferred Experience

While 2 years of experience in orthopedic outpatient settings is required, we value candidates with diverse clinical backgrounds who demonstrate a strong commitment to patient care. Experience with specific therapeutic modalities, athletic training, or specialized rehabilitation techniques can enhance your candidacy.

Compensation and Benefits

The competitive salary for this position ranges between $90,000 and $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
