Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial and ongoing physical therapy evaluations to establish patients' needs, creating tailored treatment plans based on their specific diagnoses and functional goals.
• Assess factors influencing mobility, strength, and overall function while developing realistic and measurable goals in collaboration with patients.
• Implement evidence-based treatment interventions, adjusting plans as necessary to reflect patient progress and feedback.
• Document all patient interactions and progress comprehensively, adhering to both facility protocols and state regulations.
• Ensure the rehabilitation environment remains clean, organized, and conducive to patient safety and comfort.
• Participate in continuous education, workshops, and training sessions to elevate professional knowledge and skills, ensuring the highest quality of patient care.
• Work integrally with other staff members to enhance the patient experience and optimize therapeutic outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will be primarily focused on orthopedic patients of all ages, ranging from post-operative individuals recovering from surgeries to active adults seeking to regain mobility after injuries. You will be tasked with employing a variety of therapeutic techniques and exercises specific to common orthopedic conditions, such as joint replacements, fractures, sports injuries, and chronic pain syndromes. Understanding each patient's background and goals is critical to developing valid and effective treatment strategies.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program is required; a Master's or Doctoral degree is preferred.
• Possession of an active Physical Therapy license in the state of Virginia is mandatory.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, including AED training.
• Strong empathy and a compassionate demeanor towards patient care.

Preferred Experience

Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years of experience working directly with patients in a clinical setting. Familiarity with orthopedic rehabilitation techniques and advanced therapeutic practices is essential. Candidates who demonstrate a proactive approach to continuing education and are eager to learn new treatment modalities will be highly valued. Experience in specific treatment techniques such as manual therapy or therapeutic exercise is a bonus.

Compensation and Benefits
