Advanced Practice Nurse in Cardiology

Position Overview

Gotham Enterprises Ltd is excited to announce an opening for a dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) within our esteemed Center for Advanced Cardiac Care (CACC) located in Pelham, New York. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work onsite in a dynamic, outpatient office environment. The NP will collaborate closely with a team of healthcare professionals, including attending physicians, other Nurse Practitioners, and a variety of specialists, all under the guidance of the Chief Nurse Practitioner and the Medical Director of the CACC.

Work Environment

The NP will operate within an outpatient office, ensuring a stable work-life balance while maintaining the essential interaction needed for optimal patient care. Our facility is designed to support patient-centered care, equipped with the latest diagnostic tools and a state-of-the-art electronic medical records (EMR) system. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will engage with social workers, nutritionists, and other specialists, enabling seamless coordination of care across different spectrums of health.

Key Responsibilities

• Obtain thorough patient histories and perform both comprehensive and targeted physical examinations to assess cardiac health.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests including echocardiograms and stress tests while diagnosing and managing acute and chronic cardiovascular issues.
• Collaborate autonomously and with other healthcare providers to create tailored care plans that include health maintenance and medical interventions based on established protocols.
• Review internal and external patient records to assimilate relevant history and diagnostics for informed clinical decisions.
• Engage in patient education, counseling on disease processes, treatment options, and care management strategies outside of a hospital setting.
• Coordinate admissions and discharges in collaboration with inpatient teams, ensuring continuity of care for patients transitioning between services.
• Triage daily patient calls alongside nursing staff, ensuring timely responses and communication with referring physicians.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of all patient encounters within the outpatient EMR system to ensure accuracy and quality of care.
• Contribute to ongoing clinical research, staying updated on the latest developments and integrating findings into practice.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment, upholding the highest standards of care for all patients.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The NP will primarily focus on adult patients with cardiovascular conditions. This includes individuals diagnosed with complex medical issues such as advanced heart failure, pulmonary arterial hypertension, and post-heart transplant care. Our NP will also support patients requiring advanced therapies, including outpatient intravenous medications and mechanical circulatory support, ensuring that they receive comprehensive and tailored treatment plans.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Nursing with a specialization as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse and Nurse Practitioner licenses.
• Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Certifications in Basic Life Support (BCLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and relevant DEA and NPI credentials.
• Proficiency with EMR systems and basic computer applications, including MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Preferred Experience

A minimum of two years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a hospital or clinic setting is preferred, particularly with a focus on cardiology. Ideal candidates will have direct experience working with advanced heart failure patients and those undergoing interventions related to cardiology.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 120,000 to 220,000 annually, commensurate with your experience and qualifications.
