The Prevent Anxiety Counseling Center is actively seeking a dedicated Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic team. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to provide trauma-informed mental health care to individuals grappling with the effects of trauma. This remote role allows you to engage directly with clients in an outpatient setting, conducting assessments and providing therapeutic interventions that foster recovery and resilience.

Work Environment\n

In this fully remote role, you will have the flexibility to manage your schedule while ensuring that you meet the needs of your patients effectively. Our outpatient office fosters a collaborative atmosphere that prioritizes professional development and team support, enabling mental health professionals to thrive in their practice. You will be working from home, with the option of accessing our facilities for training and team meetings as needed. The standard work hours will be Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, although some scheduling flexibility may be required based on patient needs.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough, trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients’ trauma histories and mental health needs, ensuring accurate treatment planning.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focused on trauma recovery and resilience-building, integrating patients’ personal goals and feedback.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to facilitate healing.

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions to promote emotional processing, coping strategy development, and overall well-being.
\n
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, and other mental health professionals to ensure comprehensive and integrated care for each patient.

• Provide immediate crisis intervention and support for patients experiencing trauma-related emergencies.
\n
• Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, effective coping strategies, and available community resources.
\n
• Maintain accurate and confidential medical documentation in compliance with all legal and ethical guidelines.

• Engage in ongoing case consultations and participate in professional development activities centered on trauma-informed care practices.

• Stay informed about the latest research and advancements in trauma therapy to continuously enhance the quality of care provided.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role primarily focuses on patients who have experienced trauma, including those dealing with PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Your ability to create a trusting space for clients will be invaluable as they navigate their healing journeys. You will work with diverse populations, ensuring that all interventions are culturally competent and sensitive to individual experiences.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Texas.

• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in a mental health counseling role, specifically working with trauma-impacted clients.

• Strong foundational knowledge of trauma-related disorders and familiarity with trauma-informed treatment modalities.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on compassionate and non-judgmental patient care.

• Ability to manage high-stress clinical situations with composure and professionalism.
\n
• Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant computer applications.

• Collaborative mindset, with the ability to effectively work within a multidisciplinary team.

Compensation and Benefits\n
