Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individualized therapy sessions either in-home or at our outpatient center. Your therapeutic interventions will be tailored to the specific needs of each child and family.

• Facilitate group therapy sessions focused on skill-building in areas such as anger management, social skills, and coping strategies, aiming to decrease high-risk behaviors.

• Assist families in improving their decision-making skills to navigate in-home behavioral challenges effectively.
\n
• Engage in collaborative treatment planning with the Child Family Treatment Team and other professionals, ensuring a coordinated approach to each child's care.
\n
• Document all required patient information accurately and timely, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, to maintain compliance with regulations.

• Participate in monthly team meetings to share insights, discuss cases, and provide recommendations for program improvements.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This therapist position primarily focuses on children aged 3 to 20 who are living with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Your work will involve not only direct therapy with these young clients but also active engagement with their families to ensure that they receive holistic support. The multicultural aspect of our client base requires sensitivity to language and cultural nuances, making bilingual skills in Spanish or Portuguese highly valuable.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a closely related field is required.

• Must hold an active and unrestricted LMFT license to practice therapy.

• A minimum availability of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours, specifically from 4 to 7 PM, with flexible weekend hours a plus.

• Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle is essential for travel to clients' homes as needed.

• Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is mandatory.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience working directly with children with intellectual/developmental disabilities is a significant asset.

• Proven skills in providing positive behavior support within therapeutic settings.

• Prior experience conducting therapy sessions in home settings is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits\n
