This full-time role involves providing high-quality mental health care through a combination of telehealth and in-person sessions in Syracuse, New York. Work Environment\n

This position offers the flexibility of remote work with occasional face-to-face interactions in an outpatient setting. Our work environment fosters collaboration, personal growth, and the sharing of best practices. We understand the importance of a balanced work-life dynamic and provide coverage from 7 am to 10 pm, allowing for flexible scheduling to suit both clinicians and clients. Your role will primarily involve individual therapy, with opportunities to facilitate group sessions as well.

Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will:

• Conduct comprehensive, trauma-informed mental health assessments to understand each patient’s unique background and situation.

• Design and execute individualized treatment plans focusing on trauma recovery, resilience-building, and overall mental health improvement.
\n
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions including, but not limited to, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
\n
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, creating a safe environment for patients to process their experiences, learn coping techniques, and engage in healing.
\n
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and interdisciplinary teams to promote comprehensive, integrated care for patients.
\n
• Provide crisis intervention and support for clients during traumatic events.
\n
• Educate clients and their families about trauma, coping skills, and available resources.
\n
• Ensure accurate documentation per legal and ethical standards while maintaining patient confidentiality.
\n
• Engage in team meetings and professional development, focusing on trauma-informed practices and evolving treatment methodologies.

• Stay informed about the latest research and advancements in mental health therapy, specifically related to trauma.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your role will directly involve working with a diverse population of clients dealing with various trauma-related issues. This includes individuals who may have experienced domestic violence, childhood abuse, PTSD, and other significant life stressors. You will play a crucial role in guiding them through their healing journeys and equipping them with the tools they need to thrive.

Qualifications\n

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMHC in New York.
\n
• Strong understanding of trauma-informed care approaches and trauma-related disorders.

• Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy, integrity, and a non-judgmental attitude toward clients.

• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring efficient patient record management.

• Ability to effectively collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Experience\n

While not mandatory, preference will be given to candidates with:

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience.

Compensation and Benefits\n
