Key Responsibilities

• Conduct individual therapy sessions supporting clients in achieving their mental health goals while ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment.
• Collaborate with team members to develop and implement effective treatment plans tailored to each client's unique needs.
• Document patient interactions and progress accurately and promptly in electronic health record (EHR) systems to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide regular updates and ensure progress notes are completed by the end of each shift, reflecting the client's advancements towards their treatment objectives.
• Participate in the onboarding of clients and their families, providing thorough orientation to the clinic's procedures and available resources.
• Utilize strong time management and prioritization skills to manage a diverse caseload effectively.
• Advocate for additional services as necessary, ensuring that each client receives appropriate support and resources.
• Handle crisis situations competently by identifying warning signs of aggressive behavior and implementing response strategies in accordance with established protocols.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a licensed Mental Health Counselor at Serene Balance, you will work with a diverse population that includes individuals, couples, and families from various cultures and backgrounds. Your expertise in cultural competency will be essential in delivering inclusive care that respects and acknowledges the unique challenges faced by each client. You will play a pivotal role in facilitating access to mental health services and providing much-needed support in navigating complex social and emotional issues.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related mental health field.
• Current licensure as an LPCC, LCSW, LMFT, or PsyD in California.
• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in a clinical setting, demonstrating a history of working effectively with clients.
• Proficient understanding of comprehensive treatment planning and diagnosis using the DSM-5 framework.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, allowing for effective communication with clients, families, and colleagues.
• Ability to thrive in a remote work environment while managing a challenging and diverse caseload.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems for documentation.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in providing marriage and family therapy across diverse populations, including children and adults.
• Demonstrated ability to manage crisis situations and provide immediate support when required.
• Proven ability to establish rapport and trust with clients, facilitating a supportive therapeutic relationship.

Compensation and Benefits

• Competitive annual salary range of $115,000 - $130,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
