Work Environment

This position is based onsite at a local school, where you will work directly with students and their families, providing necessary mental health services in a familiar setting. As a vital member of our team, you will work regular business hours, from 9 am to 5 pm, within a collaborative, supportive, and dynamic environment that values professional growth and community impact.

Key Responsibilities

Your daily responsibilities will include:

• Conducting thorough psychiatric assessments and evaluations to accurately diagnose mental health conditions.
• Managing medication regimens for patients, monitoring their effectiveness, and making necessary adjustments.
• Collaborating closely with primary care providers, family members, and other healthcare team members to deliver integrated care tailored to the needs of each patient.
• Providing crisis intervention and immediate support during emotional distress or challenging situations.
• Engaging in community outreach initiatives, promoting mental health awareness, and supporting the school environment through educational workshops.
• Delivering therapeutic support through counseling and psychoeducational sessions that empower patients and their families.
• Ensuring all patient records are maintained accurately and confidentially, in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily serve a diverse patient population, including students experiencing various mental health issues. This requires a culturally sensitive approach and an understanding of unique challenges faced by families in a school setting. Your expertise will help improve the mental health landscape of the community, fostering resilience and healthy coping strategies among students.

Qualifications

The candidate must have the following qualifications:

• A Master’s degree in Nursing with a specialization as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
• Current state licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) specializing in psychiatry.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating effective interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, experience in a community health center or similar environment is preferred, allowing you to immediately understand the complexities of mental health care delivery within diverse communities. Familiarity with trauma-informed care practices and behavioral health integration is also an asset.

Compensation and Benefits
