Work Environment

This position is based onsite at our Cardiology outpatient office within a hospital setting in vibrant Valley Stream, NY. As part of a collaborative team, the NP will interact with cardiologists, nurses, and administrative staff, contributing to a supportive and educational atmosphere. This role features a structured schedule from Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, with no on-call duties, evenings, or weekends, providing a balanced work-life dynamic.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients, performing medical histories and physical examinations.
• Collaborate closely with cardiologists to manage treatment plans for patients with hypertension, high cholesterol, and complex cardiovascular conditions.
• Provide specialized outpatient Electrophysiology services for patients dealing with abnormal electrocardiograms, arrhythmias, and cardiac devices.
• Manage acute conditions, including Coronary Artery Disease, Peripheral Artery Disease, Congestive Heart Failure, and post-stroke care, ensuring thorough follow-up and patient education.
• Perform stress testing as necessary and interpret results in consultation with supervising cardiologists.
• Prescribe medications and refer patients to specialists within our healthcare team as needed, ensuring seamless care continuity.
• Deliver education and counseling to patients and their families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications essential for heart health.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Nurse Practitioner will primarily serve adult patients experiencing a variety of cardiac issues, ensuring high-quality care tailored to individual needs. The patient population ranges from those seeking preventative care to those requiring extensive management for chronic cardiovascular diseases. Qualifications

• Hold a Master’s or doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Possess a current Nurse Practitioner license in New York State and board certification in a relevant specialty.
• Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of cardiac health and related fields, with completion of an accredited program pertinent to the practice area.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in Cardiology or related fields, whether inpatient or outpatient, is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with outpatient clinical workflows, electronic health records (EHR) systems, and cardiac diagnostic tools.
• New graduates will also be considered, provided they demonstrate relevant clinical rotations in Cardiology.

Compensation and Benefits
