Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed medical evaluations and comprehensive pain assessments, exploring the multifaceted nature of patients’ pain while considering underlying medical, psychological, and social aspects.
• Develop individualized treatment plans utilizing a variety of methods, including pharmacological treatments, physical therapy, and cognitive behavioral strategies, tailored to each patient's unique needs.
• Provide ongoing care to patients suffering from chronic pain conditions, focusing on improving their functional abilities, alleviating pain intensity, and enhancing their overall quality of life through proactive management strategies.
• Address acute pain stemming from injuries, surgeries, or procedures, employing evidence-based methodologies that minimize discomfort and facilitate faster healing.
• Prescribe appropriate medications for pain relief, continuously monitoring their effectiveness and advising patients about potential side effects to ensure informed decisions regarding their treatment.
• Perform and supervise interventional pain management procedures, such as nerve blocks and epidural steroid injections, while adhering to the highest clinical safety and efficacy standards.
• Educate patients on effective pain management techniques, self-care strategies, and lifestyle adjustments that empower them to play an active role in their treatment journey.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date electronic health records (EHR), meticulously documenting assessments, treatments, and patient conditions to ensure continuity of care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily work with a diverse patient population experiencing varying degrees of pain, from acute post-operative pain to chronic conditions such as fibromyalgia and arthritis. Understanding the unique needs and psychosocial contexts of your patients will be crucial for delivering effective and empathetic care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree is required; preferred candidates will have a Master’s degree or equivalent.
• Must possess an active Physician Assistant license in New Jersey and be in good standing.

Compensation and Benefits
