Experienced Physical Therapist - Outpatient Rehabilitation

Position Overview

Atlantic Health Therapy is seeking a dedicated and skilled full-time Physical Therapist to become an integral part of our outpatient rehabilitation team located in Henrico, Virginia. In this role, you will focus on providing personalized care that helps patients regain mobility, enhance their quality of life, and achieve their rehabilitation goals. This position involves working with a diverse patient population, including athletes, post-surgical individuals, and those recovering from injuries.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments to develop individualized treatment plans that meet the unique needs and goals of each patient.
• Implement and oversee therapeutic interventions, including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and patient education programs.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly, ensuring that patients remain on track to achieve their rehabilitation objectives.
• Educate patients and caregivers about treatment options, home exercises, and lifestyle modifications to promote long-term health and wellness.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient evaluations, treatment sessions, and progress notes in electronic medical record (EMR) software, with proficiency in WebPT.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to discuss patient progress, treatment strategies, and any necessary adjustments to care plans.
• Implement evidence-based practices to ensure effective patient outcomes while prioritizing non-surgical alternatives and minimizing reliance on medication.
• Motivate and support patients throughout their treatment process, fostering a positive and encouraging rehabilitation experience.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to stay informed about the latest advancements in physical therapy techniques and research.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a varied patient demographic, including athletes recuperating from sports injuries, individuals recovering from joint replacements, and patients dealing with chronic pain or mobility limitations. Your focus will be on addressing their unique rehabilitation challenges and improving their functional abilities.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
• Active Physical Therapist license to practice in Virginia, with an exceptional professional record and no history of sanctions or board proceedings.
• Proficiency in a variety of manual therapy techniques to deliver effective, hands-on care.
• Ability to design and implement successful exercise programs tailored to individual patient needs.
• Strong knowledge of current physical therapy practices supported by evidence-based research.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in an outpatient setting with a focus on orthopedic rehabilitation.
• Experience using EMR systems, particularly WebPT, for comprehensive patient documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 80,000 to 100,000 per year, commensurate with experience. In addition, our benefits package includes health insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for continuing education and professional development.
