Work Environment

This position is onsite and involves traveling to patients' homes in the Richmond area. You will be part of a supportive and diverse team that values continuous learning and development. Our office hours typically follow a Monday to Friday schedule, with rotating weekend shifts to meet patient needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients to determine their physical strength, mobility, and overall functional capabilities in a home environment.
• Create individualized treatment plans based on physician referrals and evaluated data, setting specific goals aimed at improving patient outcomes and physical function.
• Administer therapeutic interventions such as exercise programs, manual therapy, and pain management strategies, carefully documenting each patient's progress in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, treatment plans, and notes regarding patient care, ensuring all documentation meets the necessary requirements for skilled therapeutic necessity.
• Engage with multidisciplinary teams, discussing treatment approaches with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other specialists to assess and adjust interventions as necessary.
• Supervise and mentor Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) and other support personnel, ensuring they are equipped to provide high-quality care to patients.
• Participate in ongoing professional development, attending workshops and training sessions, to enhance skills and stay updated on the latest treatment trends and practices.
• Contribute constructive insights during team meetings to promote optimal productivity and a positive workflow.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on patients recovering from injuries, surgeries, and age-related ailments that restrict their mobility and independence. You will adapt your approach to cater to a wide array of individuals, including those facing chronic conditions such as arthritis, neurological disorders, and post-operative rehabilitation. Your role will be pivotal in assessing their progress and modifying treatment plans to align with their unique needs and circumstances, contributing directly to their overall health and quality of life.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited university.
• Active physical therapist license issued by the State of Virginia.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey treatment plans and engage with diverse patient demographics.
• Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) and other healthcare-related software to document patient care and manage schedules.

Preferred Experience

• At least two years of clinical experience in a physical therapy setting, particularly in home care or outpatient environments.
• Experience working with patients of all ages, particularly geriatric clients.
• Familiarity with various therapeutic modalities and techniques that can be applied in the home setting.

Compensation and Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 80,000 to 100,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
