Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist at Encompass Rehabilitation Center, you will be responsible for:

• Directing physical therapy treatment to prevent disability, alleviate pain, and enhance muscle function while promoting maximum performance in alignment with each patient's individualized plan of care.
• Supervising and guiding Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure the effective delivery of rehabilitative services in accordance with our established standards.
• Conducting thorough evaluations of patients' functional abilities through diagnostic testing, assessing muscle strength, joint mobility, and neurological function.
• Assessing home environments for potential barriers to rehabilitation and recommending modifications to facilitate independence.
• Providing in-home therapy services as prescribed by physicians, including administering manual and non-manual therapeutic interventions.
• Documenting patient progress meticulously, including initial evaluations, care plans, and discharge summaries, ensuring compliance with clinical standards.
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to evaluate and refine treatment plans in multidisciplinary case conferences.
• Consulting and educating patients, families, and caregivers on therapeutic practices, exercises, and the proper use of adaptive devices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will primarily focus on serving a diverse patient population with varying levels of mobility and rehabilitation needs. From post-operative clients to individuals recovering from injuries, your intervention will be crucial in helping patients regain independence and improve their overall functional capacity.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

• A Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) and a valid license to practice in the State of New Jersey.
• At least two years of professional experience in a physical therapy setting, preferably in acute care or home healthcare.
• A current CPR certification and a valid driver's license with automobile insurance.
• A commitment to clinical excellence, showcasing integrity and a passion for patient care.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
• The ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a high level of professionalism.

Preferred Experience
