Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive initial patient histories and perform thorough physical examinations to assess health status.
• Develop, document, and communicate detailed plans of care, prioritizing accurate patient screening and preparation.
• Carry out daily patient rounds, evaluating and adjusting care plans based on clinical status and patient needs.
• Write and manage medication orders, laboratory requests, and diagnostic tests to facilitate timely patient evaluation.
• Review and interpret laboratory results, providing necessary follow-up and modifications to treatment plans.
• Engage with attending physicians, residents, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary team members to uphold the highest quality of care.
• Prepare discharge summaries, prescriptions, and referrals, ensuring patients are well-informed and equipped for post-discharge care.
• Participate in ongoing professional development initiatives and collaborate in research projects aimed at improving healthcare delivery.
• Perform additional duties as assigned, maintaining adherence to best practices and quality standards as mandated by regulatory and institutional guidelines.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role focuses primarily on adult patients with a wide array of internal medicine conditions. Qualifications

• A Master’s Degree in a Nurse Practitioner Program is required.
• National Board Certification in the specialty area of Internal Medicine.
• A valid license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in New York State, alongside a current Registered Professional Nurse license.
• Demonstrated possession of a collaborative practice agreement in alignment with New York State Department of Education regulations, and compliance with the Nurse Practitioner Modernization Act of 2015.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is necessary.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in an acute care hospital setting or a specialized internal medicine practice.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems to facilitate documentation and care coordination.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a competitive salary ranging from $150,000 to $160,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
