Work Environment

You will work onsite at our state-of-the-art rehabilitation facility, fully equipped for orthopedic treatment and recovery. Our clinic emphasizes a cooperative atmosphere where therapists engage with each other and with nursing staff for seamless patient care. The schedule for this position will be Monday to Friday, with two possible shift options: either from 7 am to 3 pm or 8 am to 4 pm, allowing for a good work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients to assess their physical capabilities and needs, subsequently developing and implementing evidence-based treatment plans tailored to their specific conditions.
• Collaborate actively with the interdisciplinary team, which includes physicians, occupational therapists, nursing staff, and administrative personnel, to ensure a cohesive approach to patient care.
• Educate patients and their families about their treatment strategies, progress expectations, and home exercise programs, fostering engagement in the rehabilitation process.
• Participate in Care Plan Meetings, offering assessments and updates regarding patient progress to inform ongoing treatment strategies.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions, treatment progress, and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Engage in staff development through facility education and training sessions, thereby improving overall service awareness and patient outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on orthopedic patients recovering from surgeries, injuries, or chronic conditions. You will work with individuals of varying ages and backgrounds, each with distinct goals for rehabilitation. Your expertise will help improve their strength, flexibility, and coordination, facilitating a smoother transition back to their daily activities.

Qualifications

• A valid Physical Therapist license in good standing in the state of Virginia is required.
• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy is essential. Candidates with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy will be prioritized.
• Current CPR certification is necessary to ensure patient safety.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and automobile insurance for potential community outings with patients.
• A commitment to clinical excellence, integrity, teamwork, and continuous professional learning is paramount.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills, facilitating effective patient and family engagement.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility or outpatient orthopedic therapy setting is highly desirable.
• A demonstrated ability to innovate in treatment approaches and foster a positive therapeutic environment.
• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems to enhance documentation efficiency.

Compensation and Benefits
