A Step Ahead Counseling Center is actively seeking a dedicated Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our team in San Antonio, Texas. This full-time position is primarily remote with opportunities to collaborate in our outpatient office when necessary. Work Environment\n

This position offers the flexibility of remote work, which promotes a healthy work-life balance while still fostering collaboration through virtual meetings and occasional in-office consultations. Our outpatient office is equipped with modern technology to facilitate telehealth services, ensuring our therapists can connect effectively with clients. You will enjoy a productive work schedule from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility based on patient needs.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed assessments to evaluate patients’ trauma histories, identifying their unique needs for ongoing support and intervention.

• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that emphasize trauma recovery and the development of coping strategies.
\n
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to facilitate healing.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions to allow patients the opportunity to process their trauma in a supportive setting.
\n
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and multidisciplinary professionals to provide holistic, integrated care for each patient.
\n
• Deliver crisis intervention services for patients facing trauma-related emergencies, ensuring safety and immediate support.
\n
• Educate patients and families on trauma responses, effective coping mechanisms, and resources available for further assistance.
\n
• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
\n
• Participate in ongoing case consultations and team meetings to refine approaches in trauma-informed care.

• Stay informed of the latest research in trauma therapy to enhance the quality of care provided to clients.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will work primarily with individuals who have experienced various forms of trauma, including but not limited to PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. This population often presents with diverse backgrounds, requiring an understanding of different cultural contexts and trauma responses. Your expertise will guide them through their healing processes, fostering resilience and coping mechanisms tailored to their unique experiences.

Qualifications\n

• A master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Texas.

• Strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment methods.
\n
• Proficiency in delivering trauma-focused therapeutic interventions, showcasing adaptability to client needs.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and empathetic demeanor.
\n
• A capacity for remaining composed under high-stress situations and addressing crisis scenarios effectively.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience, preferably in a clinical setting.

• Experience utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems and other clinical software to enhance service delivery.

Compensation and Benefits\n
