Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and review patient medical histories to assess health needs.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as blood tests and imaging studies, to formulate treatment plans.
• Diagnose acute and chronic health conditions, establishing management plans that encompass pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure cohesive and effective treatment strategies.
• Prescribe medications as necessary, and educate patients about their pharmacotherapy.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Inform patients and their families about health conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures.
• Advocate for patient health by promoting disease prevention practices and engaging in community health education.
• Participate in the continuous improvement initiatives at the clinic, contributing to research and best practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This position primarily serves a diverse outpatient population, including individuals with varying medical needs ranging from chronic conditions to acute illnesses. You will use your expertise to tailor your approach for each patient, ensuring personalized care that addresses their unique health circumstances.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited institution.
• A minimum of two years of clinical experience, preferably in a primary care setting.
• PA-C certification and a valid Physician Assistant license in New York State.
• Active DEA registration.
• Strong understanding of health care regulations and ethical standards in patient care.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Demonstrated ability to handle stressful situations with patience and professionalism.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
