Safe Heaven Counseling Services is actively seeking a dedicated, full-time Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our innovative remote team. Work Environment

This position offers a fully remote work setting along with the flexibility of telehealth services. Our therapists benefit from a collaborative atmosphere that emphasizes both professional development and personal well-being. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with some flexibility based on client needs. The telehealth model enables our team members to provide much-needed support while maintaining work-life balance, ultimately enhancing job satisfaction and retention.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough, culturally sensitive mental health assessments to evaluate patients' needs and create individualized treatment plans based on best practices.
• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices, and family systems therapy tailored to the diverse backgrounds of clients.
• Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions, developing strategies that empower patients and promote resilience.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including psychiatrists, psychologists, and community organizations to ensure holistic care for patients.
• Provide crisis intervention and immediate support for clients facing critical mental health issues, demonstrating high-level crisis management skills.
• Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, available treatment options, and community resources to enhance understanding and encourage proactive engagement in their care.
• Maintain accurate, confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards, using advanced electronic health record (EHR) systems effectively.
• Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and ongoing training in cultural competency and mental health best practices to continuously enhance service delivery.

Qualifications

• Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Current licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Texas.
• In-depth knowledge of mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment methodologies, and the principles of cultural competence.
• Proven experience providing individual and group therapy utilizing inclusive, culturally responsive treatment approaches.
• Strong crisis intervention skills, with the ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients from varied backgrounds.
• Proficiency in using EHR systems and other relevant technology to maintain organized and accurate patient records.
• A firm commitment to ethical guidelines, confidentiality, and maintaining professional boundaries.

Preferred Experience

• Demonstrated experience working with multicultural populations and familiarity with the unique challenges faced by these groups.
• Experience in teletherapy and a strong understanding of the therapeutic process in a virtual setting.
• Engagement in ongoing professional development and training, particularly in culturally specific issues within mental health.
