Key Responsibilities\n

As a licensed mental health therapist at Nexus Mental Healthcare, you will be responsible for:

• Conducting thorough, trauma-informed mental health assessments to uncover patients' trauma histories and propose suitable treatment strategies tailored to their individual needs.

• Developing and implementing personalized treatment plans that focus on trauma recovery and resilience-building, utilizing evidence-based interventions such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

• Delivering one-on-one and group therapy sessions that empower patients to process trauma, build coping skills, and engage in their healing journey.

• Collaborating with psychiatrists and various other healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive and integrated care for our patients.

• Providing crisis intervention and support to patients during trauma-related emergencies, demonstrating resourcefulness and composure in high-stress situations.

• Educating patients and their families on trauma responses, effective coping mechanisms, and available community resources.

• Maintaining meticulous and confidential documentation in accordance with legal and ethical standards to foster a safe therapeutic environment.

Qualifications\n

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A master’s or doctoral degree from an accredited institution in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Texas.

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in a mental health setting, particularly with trauma-focused therapies.

• A thorough understanding of trauma-related disorders along with trauma-informed treatment modalities.

• A proactive approach toward building rapport with patients through superior interpersonal and communication skills, characterized by empathy and a non-judgmental demeanor.

• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and proficiency in using various computer applications for documentation and patient management.

• Strong ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, enhancing patient care through collective expertise.

Preferred Experience\n

While two years of post-licensure experience is required, candidates with extensive backgrounds in trauma-focused therapies or related interventions, and those who have demonstrated leadership in mental health environments, will stand out. Experience in providing both individual and group therapy, along with the use of specific treatment modalities like EMDR and TF-CBT, is highly desirable.
