Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, your primary duties will include:

• Providing trauma-informed counseling to diverse clients, including individuals, couples, and families, adapting your approach to meet their unique needs.
\n
• Incorporating Christian counseling techniques for clients seeking a faith-based therapeutic experience.
\n
• Developing, implementing, and regularly updating individualized treatment plans aligned with clients' goals and progress.
\n
• Providing counseling services primarily to clients referred from partner local churches, enhancing community outreach and relationship building.
\n
• Engaging in community networking to grow your caseload and expand our referral sources.
\n
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary professionals, including social workers and clinical counselors, to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
\n
• Maintaining accurate client records and promptly entering progress notes into our electronic health record (EHR) system.
\n
• Communicating regularly with the center director to coordinate schedule and availability, ensuring responsiveness to client needs.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your work will primarily involve helping individuals, couples, and families facing various mental health challenges, trauma histories, and those seeking to blend their faith with their counseling experience. By understanding the spiritual and emotional aspects of each client's journey, you'll be instrumental in guiding them toward lasting healing and growth.

Qualifications\n

To be successful in this role, candidates must have:

• A Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
\n
• A strong foundational knowledge of the Bible and Christian counseling methods.
\n
• Independently licensed as a LPC, LMFT, or LCSW in Washington, or within 200 hours of completing residency requirements.
\n
• Desire for dual licensure in Virginia or Maryland is highly preferred.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

We are particularly interested in candidates who possess:

• At least one year of experience in trauma counseling, with demonstrable competency in various therapeutic modalities.

• Training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), or the willingness to undertake this training within three months of hire.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with a diverse population.
\n
• A compassionate and ethical approach to counseling, maintaining confidentiality in all client interactions.
