The position is remote, providing flexibility while being part of a collaborative outpatient office setting. Our team works closely together to create a cohesive support system for our clients. Although the primary work schedule is Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, there may be opportunities for flexible scheduling based on patient needs.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough, trauma-informed mental health assessments that evaluate clients' trauma histories and identify the most effective treatment methods.

• Craft and implement individualized treatment plans that emphasize recovery and the development of resilience, working closely with each patient to address their unique needs.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) in both individual and group settings.

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions designed to help clients process trauma, cultivate coping strategies, and encourage healing within a supportive group dynamic.

• Collaborate with psychiatrists and other mental health professionals to ensure continuity and integration of care for all patients.

• Provide immediate crisis intervention and support for clients experiencing trauma-related emergencies.

• Engage with clients and their families to educate them on trauma responses, effective coping mechanisms, and available resources for sustained mental health and well-being.

• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation that complies with legal and ethical standards.

• Participate actively in case consultations, team meetings, and professional development initiatives focused on trauma-informed care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our primary focus is on individuals dealing with the aftermath of trauma, including but not limited to survivors of abuse, complex trauma, and those suffering from PTSD. As a therapist with Calm Seas Counseling Services, you will work closely with clients who require a nuanced understanding of their experiences and a tailored approach to treatment that fosters healing and empowerment.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in the state of California.

• Possession of 2 years of post-licensure experience is strongly preferred.
\n
• Demonstrated expertise in trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment modalities.

• Proven experience in delivering trauma-focused therapies and interventions.
\n
• Strong interpersonal communication skills; inherently empathetic and non-judgmental.
\n
• Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
\n
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant computer applications.

• A collaborative spirit that thrives in a multidisciplinary team setting.

Preferred Experience\n

While two years of post-licensure experience is preferred, we value a candidate's passion for trauma-informed care and their commitment to ongoing professional development. Any additional certifications or special training in trauma therapy or related modalities will be highly regarded.

Compensation and Benefits\n
