Work Environment\n

This role functions primarily in a remote setting, allowing counselors the flexibility to conduct their work from the comfort of their own environment. Despite this virtual framework, our office is equipped with advanced technology to facilitate seamless communication and collaboration among team members. The work schedule is typically Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility to accommodate patients' needs, ensuring comprehensive, patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients' trauma histories and determine the most effective treatment approaches.

• Design and implement individualized treatment plans prioritizing trauma recovery and resilience-building, tailored to the unique needs of each patient.

• Use evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to facilitate healing.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions to support patients in processing trauma, developing coping strategies, and fostering emotional resilience.
\n
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists and other mental health professionals, to ensure integrated and holistic care for patients.

• Provide crisis intervention and support during trauma-related emergencies, demonstrating a calm and composed demeanor in high-pressure situations.

• Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and available community resources to enhance their understanding and support.

• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.

• Engage in case consultations, team meetings, and ongoing professional development activities focused on trauma-informed care.

• Stay informed of the latest research and advancements in trauma therapy to enhance personal practice and improve patient outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The ideal candidate will be working directly with individuals who have experienced significant trauma, including survivors of abuse, neglect, and other adverse life experiences. Our patient population includes diverse demographics, requiring counselors to possess cultural competence and an understanding of the complex factors contributing to mental health challenges.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current licensure as an LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT in the State of Illinois.

• Strong foundational knowledge of trauma and its impact on mental health, particularly in trauma-related disorders.

Preferred Experience\n

• At least two years of post-licensure experience in a mental health setting, particularly with a focus on trauma-informed care.
