New Path Counseling Services is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Therapist, proficient in working with trauma survivors, to join our remote team. This full-time position offers the opportunity to provide specialized mental health care to individuals affected by trauma, ranging from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) to complex trauma and dissociative disorders.

Work Environment\n

This position is remote, allowing flexibility in your work location while being part of a dynamic and dedicated team. The expected work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility based upon patient needs. As a remote therapist, you will be equipped with the necessary tools and technology to maintain a seamless delivery of care and effective communication with clients and team members.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed assessments to evaluate each patient’s trauma history and to develop personalized treatment strategies.

• Design and implement individualized treatment plans that focus on fostering trauma recovery and enhancing client resilience.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to facilitate healing.

• Provide individual and group therapy sessions, helping clients develop coping skills, process their trauma, and promote emotional well-being.

• Collaborate with psychiatrists and multidisciplinary team members to create integrated care plans tailored to each patient’s needs.

• Conduct crisis intervention and provide immediate support during trauma-related emergencies, ensuring client safety and stabilizing emotional distress.
\n
• Educate clients and their families on trauma responses, effective coping mechanisms, and available resources to foster understanding and empowerment.
\n
• Maintain accurate, confidential documentation in compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.
\n
• Engage in regular case consultations, team meetings, and professional development activities to enhance trauma-informed care practices.

• Stay abreast of the latest research and advancements in trauma therapy to assure that our therapeutic approaches are relevant and highly effective.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As part of our team, you will primarily work with patients who have experienced varying levels of trauma, including those with PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Your role will be instrumental in creating individualized treatment strategies that address these shared experiences and foster significant recovery and healing.

Qualifications\n

• Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW in the state of Illinois.

• A strong understanding of trauma-related disorders, including knowledge of trauma-informed treatment modalities and resilience-building techniques.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on providing care in a compassionate, non-judgmental manner.

• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and relevant computer applications specific to mental health documentation and reporting.

Preferred Experience\n

• At least 2 years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling or therapy, particularly focused on trauma-informed practices.

• Experience in delivering trauma-focused therapies and demonstrating successful patient outcomes.

• A history of working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to provide integrated patient care.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The annual salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $110,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
