Position Overview

We are actively seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner specializing in Cardiology to become a key member of our team at the Gutierrez Oncology & Internal Medicine Center located in Mount Vernon, New York. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to work in our outpatient practice of the Center for Advanced Cardiac Care (CACC), providing vital care to patients with complex cardiovascular conditions under the guidance of our experienced Chief Nurse Practitioner and Medical Director.

Work Environment

This role is based onsite at our facility, allowing close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team including Cardiologists, Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, and administrative staff. Our typical working hours are Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm, with no night shifts, weekends, or on-call responsibilities, ensuring a balanced work-life dynamic.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a team of Cardiologists to deliver comprehensive outpatient care.
• Manage patients presenting with chronic conditions such as Hypertension and High Cholesterol through evidence-based practices.
• Facilitate Electrophysiology services for patients experiencing abnormal electrocardiograms and arrhythmias.
• Evaluate and manage acute cardiovascular conditions including Coronary Artery Disease, Peripheral Artery Disease, Congestive Heart Failure, and Transient Ischemic Attacks.
• Conduct Stress Testing and interpret results for diagnostic purposes.
• Receive guidance and supervision from on-site Cardiologists to enhance care delivery.
• Perform thorough medical histories and physical examinations while prescribing necessary medications.
• Refer patients to specialists within our group for advanced diagnostics or treatments.
• Educate patients and their families about their conditions and treatment plans, fostering a supportive environment for recovery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Cardiology Nurse Practitioner will work with a diverse outpatient population, including individuals with acute and chronic heart conditions. This role requires a strong understanding of cardiovascular health and effective communication skills to educate and support patients navigating their treatment journeys.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is mandatory; advanced degrees (Master’s or Doctoral) are preferred.
• Must have graduated from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program and possess a current, valid nursing license.
• Completion of a relevant specialty certification exam relating to Cardiology.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in outpatient or inpatient Cardiology is highly advantageous.
• Proficiency in managing patients with cardiovascular diseases is ideal.
• Recent graduates with a passion for Cardiology and relevant clinical rotations may also apply.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 120,000 to 160,000 annually, aligned with the candidate's experience and qualifications. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including:
