Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess clients' physical capabilities using diagnostic tests that measure muscle, joint, and functional abilities.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aimed at preventing disabilities, alleviating pain, and restoring function in accordance with physician referrals.
• Direct and supervise Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) to ensure effective implementation of therapy strategies and adherence to the established plan of care.
• Utilize hands-on techniques such as manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and modalities (traction, massage, etc.) to facilitate client recovery.
• Evaluate and recommend adjustments to prosthetics and orthotics, collaborating with physicians as necessary to enhance client mobility.
• Conduct regular assessments of client progress and adapt treatment programs accordingly, staying responsive to changes in physical condition.
• Document clinical encounters meticulously, maintaining up-to-date clinical records including evaluations, care plans, and discharge summaries that comply with regulatory standards.
• Engage in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss case management and ensure coordinated care across providers.
• Educate clients and their families on therapy techniques, exercises, and equipment use to foster independence and self-management of their rehabilitation journey.
• Participate in ongoing professional development activities to stay current with best practices in orthopedic therapy and physical rehabilitation.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, you will primarily work with patients recovering from orthopedic injuries, surgeries, or chronic conditions. This includes a diverse demographic, from young athletes to elderly individuals requiring rehabilitation post-surgery. You will employ therapeutic techniques specifically tailored to meet the unique needs of each client, aiming to restore function and promote well-being.

Qualifications

• Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
• Valid state licensure as a Doctor of Physical Therapy.
• Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience in orthopedic physical therapy.
• Current CPR certification.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to patient care.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Proficiency in developing and executing comprehensive rehabilitation plans for a variety of orthopedic conditions.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and clinical documentation systems.
