Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of essential tasks, including but not limited to:

• Providing therapeutic solutions and recommending pathways for clients challenged by low self-esteem, family dynamics, addictions, or suicidal tendencies.
• Maintaining accurate and comprehensive records for assigned clients, analyzing data to devise effective treatment plans tailored to their needs.
• Collaborating with family members of clients to assess behavioral changes and treatment responses, ensuring a supportive network around each individual.
• Conducting crisis intervention and diversion techniques as necessary to manage clients in urgent situations effectively.
• Delivering both face-to-face and telehealth counseling services, adapting to client preferences and comfort levels.
• Adhering strictly to all state and federal privacy regulations, including HIPAA, to protect client confidentiality.
• Participating actively in agency training, conferences, and workshops to refine your skills and stay updated on best practices in mental health care.
• Maintaining licensure in good standing and fulfilling all required annual training according to organizational and regulatory standards.
• Assisting in the supervision and mentoring of junior therapists and interns to enhance their competencies in delivering care.
• Providing case management and advocacy, helping clients access additional resources and support services.
• Contributing to on-call services and weekend coverage as part of a collaborative team effort.
• Performing intake diagnostic assessments, including crisis planning and treatment strategy formulation, to identify core issues impacting client well-being.
• Referring clients to psychiatrists or other specialists when more advanced assessments are needed.

Qualifications

• A Master's Degree in a human services-related field.
• A valid and active license in the District of Columbia as either an LPC, LICSW, or LMFT.
• Demonstrated skills in active listening, attention to detail, and effective communication.
• Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) for documentation and client management.
• Strong organizational and writing skills for maintaining thorough records and documentation.
• Experience working both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating the ability to manage stress and meet productivity goals.

Preferred Experience

• Experience providing telehealth services, including familiarity with virtual counseling platforms and protocols.
• Prior involvement in community mental health settings or collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Proven track record in crisis intervention and effective management of complex client cases.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 100,000 to 105,000 annually, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes life and disability insurance, professional liability insurance, and an employee assistance program to support mental health.
