Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate clients’ individual trauma histories and develop appropriate, effective treatment strategies.

• Craft, implement, and adapt tailored treatment plans that focus on facilitating trauma recovery and enhancing coping mechanisms.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to aid in client recovery.

• Lead both individual and group therapy sessions to provide a supportive environment where clients can process their trauma experiences while learning effective coping strategies.

• Work collaboratively with psychiatrists and multidisciplinary team members to ensure integrated, holistic care for all clients.

• Provide timely crisis intervention and support during urgent situations related to trauma.
\n
• Educate clients and their families about trauma responses, effective coping mechanisms, and available resources to aid recovery.

• Ensure proper, confidential documentation is maintained in compliance with legal and ethical standards.

• Engage in regular case consultations, team meetings, and continuous professional development discussions focused on trauma-informed care practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a therapist at High Focus Counseling, you will primarily work with individuals affected by trauma. This includes clients suffering from PTSD, dissociative disorders, and other trauma-related challenges. Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of New York.

• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience within the field, preferably in trauma-specific contexts.

• Strong expertise in trauma-related disorders, trauma-informed treatment modalities, and resilience-building methodologies.

• Demonstrated experience in delivering a range of trauma-focused therapies and interventions.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, characterized by a compassionate and non-judgmental approach.

• Capability to remain composed in high-stress situations and to handle crisis situations effectively.

• Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and familiar with relevant computer applications essential for documentation and communication.

Preferred Experience\n

Compensation and Benefits\n
