Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough, trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients' trauma histories, providing an understanding of their unique needs and treatment requirements.

• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that prioritize trauma recovery, focusing on building individual resilience and coping mechanisms.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to help patients process their trauma.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, allowing patients to share experiences, develop interpersonal skills, and learn effective coping strategies.

• Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to provide seamless, integrated care that addresses all aspects of a patient’s mental health.

• Provide crisis intervention support during trauma-related emergencies, ensuring that patients receive the timely assistance they need.

• Educate patients and their families on trauma responses, coping strategies, and available community resources to foster understanding and support.

• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in compliance with all legal, ethical, and organizational standards.

• Engage in regular team meetings and case consultations to share insights, discuss ongoing cases, and enhance training on trauma-informed care practices.

• Stay informed about the latest research and evidence-based practices in trauma therapy, continually enhancing your skills for the benefit of your patients.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will primarily work with individuals affected by various forms of trauma, including but not limited to PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Your expertise will directly impact the lives of clients who have experienced significant distress and disruption due to traumatic experiences. You will provide a safe space for them to process their feelings and recovery journeys, making a meaningful difference in their lives.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of California.

• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience, ideally in trauma-focused or mental health counseling environments.

• Strong familiarity with trauma-related disorders, evidence-based treatment modalities, and approaches to resilience-building.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to convey empathy, understanding, and support to patients in distress.

• The ability to remain calm and effective in high-stress situations, employing strong crisis management skills.
\n
• Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and other computer applications relevant to counseling services.
\n
• Effective team player, capable of collaborating successfully within a multidisciplinary team framework.

Preferred Experience\n

Although a minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience is required, candidates with specific training in trauma-informed therapies such as EMDR and TF-CBT are highly preferred. Prior experience in community health settings and a deep understanding of the socio-economic factors affecting mental health will be advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $110,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
