Work Environment

This position is stationed onsite at a local school in Islip, where you will engage directly with students and their families. The work environment is supportive and focused on health education, with resources available to address various health issues encountered within a school population. Here, you will collaborate with teachers, school nurses, and parents to promote health awareness and disease prevention strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive initial patient assessments, including taking detailed patient histories and performing thorough physical examinations to identify health issues.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies at each appointment.
• Analyze diagnostic test results and clinical data to determine appropriate treatment plans, arranging follow-up care when necessary.
• Deliver high-quality care to patients while meeting productivity metrics set forth by the organization, ensuring all patients received timely attention.
• Act as a primary resource for patients seeking information about ongoing care, providing counseling and education to individuals facing chronic illnesses or critical health conditions.
• Instruct patients about health maintenance techniques, disease prevention, and treatment options, emphasizing methods that promote health equity.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• Must possess a valid New York State licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP).

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits

This challenging yet rewarding position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 150,000 to 160,000 annually, dependent on experience and qualifications.
