Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough initial assessments through preliminary interviews that gauge clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health, leading to informed treatment decisions.

• Develop tailored therapeutic interventions and recovery plans for a diverse range of clients, including individuals, couples, families, and groups, ensuring comprehensive care.

• Facilitate effective individual and group therapy sessions that encourage open communication and support the exploration of personal challenges.

• Engage in follow-up communication with psychiatrists and primary care physicians for clients admitted to inpatient facilities, facilitating smooth transitions and comprehensive care.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in New Jersey.

• Successful completion of relevant national exams, including the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Strong foundational knowledge of psychotherapy principles, ethical practices, and updated methods of treatment.

• Proficiency in electronic health record systems (preferably AVATAR) and telehealth platforms for delivering remote services efficiently.

• Demonstrated understanding of the intersection between mental, physical health, and addiction disorders and their ramifications on client care.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on building rapport and trust with clients.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills, empathy, and a genuine desire to assist clients in their mental health journeys.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience working as a mental health counselor in similar settings, with a strong track record of effective treatment delivery.

• Familiarity with the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) standards and best practices.

• In-depth knowledge of psychotropic medications and their effects, as well as experience working with clients dealing with co-occurring conditions.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The annual salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience, along with a generous sign-on bonus.
